P.T.F.E (FDA) Approved Coatings For Bakery Rollers & Cups

P.T.F.E non-stick coatings are applied on bakery rollers and biscuit making machines to ensure smooth dough release, consistent product shape, and hygienic processing. The non-stick and low-friction surface prevents dough from sticking to rollers, die rolls, and moulds, eliminating product damage and production interruptions.

The oleophobic and hydrophobic properties of P.T.F.E resist oil, fats, moisture, and sugars commonly used in bakery formulations. This significantly reduces build-up on equipment surfaces, making cleaning faster, more effective, and often self-cleaning, thereby improving hygiene and reducing downtime.

P.T.F.E coatings are self-lubricating, reducing wear on rollers and moving components and minimising the need for external lubricants in food-contact zones. Their high heat resistance (up to 250 °C) allows stable performance during continuous baking and forming operations without degradation.

Additionally, P.T.F.E’s chemical inertness and FDA approval make it safe for direct food contact, while its low coefficient of friction improves machine efficiency, reduces energy consumption, and extends equipment service life.

Biscuit Die Rolls – Before & After P.T.F.E Coating

Before P.T.F.E Coating (Uncoated / Conventional Die Rolls)

  • Dough sticks to die roll cavities, causing imperfect biscuit shapes
  • Frequent build-up of dough, fats, and sugars on die patterns
  • Manual cleaning required, leading to production downtime
  • Higher wear on die cavities due to repeated scraping and cleaning
  • Inconsistent release results in breakage and higher rejection rates
  • Increased use of oils or release agents, affecting hygiene
